Have you been "roofied"? Symptoms of Date Rape Drugs
Posted by DrinkSafe on 19th Apr 2019
A freelance model, Sierra Oliveira, recently shared the symptoms she experienced after being given a date rape drug. In an act of bravery, she shared this in order to help other women identify the symptoms and get themselves to safety. The biggest date rape drug threats are GHB and Ketamine, as Rohypnol now turns your liquid drink a different color, making its own date rape detector. So, what are the symptoms of GHB and Ketamine?
Symptoms of GHB and Ketamine when used as a date rape drug:
- A sudden change in "consciousness", like that of many drugs and over-use of alcohol.
- GHB symptoms typically come on strong 15 minutes after ingesting and can last 3-5 hours.
- Ketamine symptoms may come on immediately, without the victim realizing it.
- Drowsiness, dizziness and decreased heart rate.
- Ketamine is a tranquilizer and causes a feeling of relaxation
- Blurred vision, nausea, sweating, and problems breathing
If you feel anything out of the ordinary and think there's any chance that you've been given a date rape drug, call 911 immediately, tell somebody, and get yourself to safety. If you want to preserve evidence, don't change clothes, shower, or urinate. Drug samples can be taken from all of those.
Keep yourself safe, and be confident that your drinks are safe with one of our many date rape detection products.
